Greetings

I'm Jeanette Lorenzon, calligrapher, graphic designer and in 1990, founder of Calligraphics, a calligraphy and hand-lettering design studio in Central New Jersey.

 

Born and raised in NYC, I had the unique opportunity to begin my graphic design studies at the High School of Art & Design. It was here I became a letter lover and realized letters could convey as strong a message as any image. Typography became my obsession and I conveyed my design ideas through the use of - you guessed it - letters!

 

Before the rise of desktop publishing, any letter customizing had to be done by hand. So working with and manipulating letters to interpret design ideas enabled me to acquire a deep understanding of letter shapes. I attribute my ability to match font styles so closely as being rooted in learning these skills early in my career.

 

My formal calligraphy training began while earning my BFA at the School of Visual Arts in NYC and has continued since through workshops across the country.

 

When I'm not creating in my studio, I love traveling, photography and perusing Home Goods. Not to mention following many talented and inspiring calligraphy crushes on Instagram and Facebook!

 

Over the years I've been blessed to work with hundreds of people throughout New Jersey and beyond, celebrating special moments in their lives. I’d love to do the same with you.
